Challenges are the lifeblood of your life, not the obstacles to it
I don’t want to talk in a prescriptive way on this blog too often, and these types of posts are coming to an end soon. But today is one. Life is at its most alive with challenges. Your goal is not to avoid them, nor solve them all away.
Not because relaxing is bad and wrong and empty. It isn’t. And relaxing is rarely just nothingness. Usually it still exercises the brain lots. Life requires solving stuff all the time. Unironically, going to brunch is a challenge too.
But still challenges are of all kinds. Let’s split them like: easy/medium/hard, and short/medium/long-term. At all times, life is better if you have challenges of all those types.
I think this includes human relationships as well as personal projects, work, physical things, etc. Human relationship challenges ask you to “solve” them in entirely different ways from everything else. That’s great.
And just like doing things gives you energy, solving challenges keeps your brain active to generate new and interesting challenges. And life is simply more interesting in this pattern. When to stop? Never ever.
